After the birth of her first child, Carrie was diagnosed with postpartum depression, anxiety and OCD. It was a life-changing experience that led Carrie to change careers from land conservation to perinatal mental health advocacy and support. She started out as a PSI volunteer, coordinating under-served areas in North Carolina in 2015. Next, she became a founding board member of PSI-NC. Carrie was hired by PSI in 2017, and has since managed several peer support programs. She is now the PSI Peer Support Programs Director.
