Dr. Mascaro's research interests are in 1) mind-body integrative approaches to well-being, 2) linguistic behavior related to social connection and health, and 3) identifying the biological mechanisms associated with prosocial emotions and behavior. In her application of these interests, her research portfolio examines the effects of mindfulness and compassion meditation practices on well-being and health among hospitalized patients and the providers who care for them, as well as identifying and evaluating novel points of entry for integrative approaches to well-being in hospital medicine.
